Differential effects of DON in swine and poultry

Abstract

Deoxynivalenol (DON, vomitoxin) is the most common trichothecene Fusarium mycotoxin detected globally in contaminated raw materials and feeds. A recent (2019) Trouw Nutrition Global Mycotoxin Survey (Figure 1) has proved the same, wherein more than 90% of the samples tested contained quantifiable amounts of DON.
