Mowi has formally merged Nova Sea into the group, completing the integration of the Norwegian salmon farmer following last year's acquisition.

The decision to fold Nova Sea into Mowi ASA took effect on March 3, according to a company statement released on March 3. Mowi acquired 95% of Nova Sea in January 2025 and subsequently launched a voluntary offer to remaining shareholders. The transaction was approved by Norwegian and international competition authorities in October 2025.

Despite the merger, the Nova Sea brand will continue, and operations on the island of Lovund in Nordland, Norway, will remain unchanged.

"Nova Sea has for many years been a guiding star in Norwegian aquaculture, with strong biological results and margins at the very top of the industry. This is something we are keen to preserve as we now become one company," said Mowi chief executive officer Ivan Vindheim.
